What is involved in setting up a website?
Setting up a website is an essential 3-step process :
1. Purchasing a domain name (for example - www.example.com).
A domain name, commonly known as a web address or URL, allows internet users to access your website.

2. Setting up website hosting
Websites are stored on large memory drives known as servers.
To access a website a person enters a domain name into a browser (such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox), and that person is then directed to the server - where your website is located.

3. Website Design
Once a domain name has been appointed to direct traffic to your website, and website hosting has been setup to store your website for the world to view, the actual website needs to be created.
This can be done by:
a) Using a premade template - these range in a variety of prices, but are quick and easy to setup.
b) Starting from scratch with a custom design - this may be time consuming, but ultimately you receive a website designed however you would prefer (this includes logos, banners, pictures, etc).
